Nostalgic 125 Year Old Welder Estate Goes to Auction

THE WELDER ESTATE AUCTION! The Welder family had been on the farm since the 1870's having 4 children, none ever married and they never threw anything away...

This was the setting for not only one, but two very historic auctions! The auctions were conducted by Hometown Real Estate & Auctions from Shawano, WI. Veteran auctioneer Clayton McHugh put on quite a show with complete setup and all! North Central Sales Auctions of Antigo, WI. were called to assist in this massive two day sale! This impressive two day auction featured tractors, machinery, vehicles, horse drawn equipment and over 125 years of antiques. Day one, Thursday Oct 28th, featured more farm related machinery, tractors and vehicles. Day two, Saturday Oct 30th, held the mass majority of antiques and furniture that the Welder Estate had collected. It took the Welder family over 125 years of living and collecting and it took a total of 12 hours between the two sales to liquidate this long time nostalgic estate! There were plenty of bidders and on-lookers in attendance to spur on the bidding with 698 bid cards out. The Welder family owned a total of 292 acres that they donated to the DNR, this was Mr. Welders last wishes for the preservation and enjoyment for the general public. Mr. Welder also wished that the auction proceeds go to 15 different charities! This estate was certainly something to see, and just being there was a full enjoyment. It was one of those sales, you had to be there and see it to believe!
